Clear your fines with food!

Lane Library will accept food donations in support of Second Harvest Food Bank through December 29, 2006. During this time, your food donations will be applied to "pay" any library late fees owed. This year you can contribute virtually at Second Harvest Food Bank's Virtual Food Drive. Go online to http://2ndharvest.net and under "Food drive" scroll to "Virtual food drive." Make your selection and either bring your receipt to the library or FAX it to 650-725-7471, attention Rose. Lane will credit your account and send you a receipt that your late fees have been paid. Or simply give us a check made out to Second Harvest Food Bank and we will make sure you receive your credit. Every $1.00 that is donated can provide two nutritious meals!

You can also bring in non-perishable foods such as peanut butter, tuna, cereal, powdered milk, etc., and canned foods. For every item you donate, Lane Library will deduct $2.00 from your fees owed balance.
