Upcoming NCBI training workshop at UC Davis - Open to Stanford
Stanford biologists interested in a quality, detailed NCBI training workshop are invited to consider attending the last NCBI Field Guide Workshop in Northern California until 2008. All are welcome to attend.

NCBI Training at UC Davis: September 12 and 13, 2007
The UC Davis University Library is hosting the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) course "A Field Guide to GenBank and NCBI Molecular Biology Resources" at UC Davis on Wednesday September 12 and Thursday September 13, 2007.
The course is free and open to the public but registration is required.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The NCBI course is a lecture and hands-on computer workshop covering effective use of the Entrez databases (including GenBank and MMDB) and search services (such as BLAST and Map Viewer).
The course consists of a three-hour lecture in the morning (Sept 12), followed by a two-hour computer hands-on session either that afternoon or in the morning or afternoon of the following day (Sept 13). For further details about the NCBI-taught course, consult the NCBI Field Guide page.

PLEASE NOTE: Attendance at the lecture is required in order to attend a computer workshop. The Lecture will be held in Room 180, Medical Science Building 1C in the Medical Science Complex. See location on the UCD campus map.
