SciVee: "YouTube for Scientists"
SciVee is a new video service that is best described as "YouTube for scientists." Produced by a collaboration between the National Science Foundation, the Public Library of Science, and the UC San Diego Supercomputing Center, this innovative service lets scientists upload their papers, accompanied by video or audio files that can be synchronized to the content of the paper. SciVee also lets users rate, tag, and comment on videos. Because uploaded content is freely available to the public, only papers published in open access journals are eligible for upload.
